Day 1 – Auckland City Sights Morning Tour
Departs 9:45am, returns 12:45pm
From bustling streets to panoramic harbour views, spend a morning getting to know Auckland city's scenic highlights. Travel through the city centre and fashionable Ponsonby to the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge, enjoying views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline. Visit the Viaduct Harbour and Auckland's famous Queen Street before continuing to the Auckland Domain, the city's oldest park.
Enjoy a short break for morning tea (own expense) in Parnell Village, a boutique shopping haven. Then take a trip along scenic Tamaki Drive to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park. From this tranquil point you can look out over the picturesque Eastern Bays, Auckland city and the sparkling Waitemata Harbour, before returning along the waterfront to downtown Auckland.
Day 2 – Waitomo Caves Tour and Rotorua Attractions
Departs 7:30am, returns 8:10pm
Experience glowworms, world-famous limestone formations, Maori culture and geothermal wonders on this full-day sightseeing tour. Travel into the King Country in the heart of the North Island for a guided tour through the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Over 45 minutes you'll explore underground caverns and see amazing limestone stalactites and stalagmites, all formed millions of years ago. Travel by boat beneath a canopy of twinkling lights in the Glowworm Grotto for a magical end to your visit.
Enjoy a picnic-style lunch (vegetarian and other dietary options available on request) as we make our way to Rotorua. Here you can experience rural New Zealand with a visit to the Agrodome, where you can tour a working farm on an all-terrain vehicle, see sheep-shearing and a sheep dog trial in action.
At Te Puia, one of New Zealand's foremost cultural venues, see and hear traditional song and dance at a Māori cultural performance. See how master artists are passing on their traditional skills to future generations at Te Puia's woodcarving and weaving schools, then take a guided tour of the bubbling mudpools and active geysers in the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. This geothermal area is home to the famous Pohutu geyser, which unleashes vapour jets up to 30 metres high. A delicious afternoon snack, including traditional Maori rewana bread, can be enjoyed as you return to Auckland.

Rotorua Sights and Hobbiton Movie Set
Start your full-day tour of the Central North Island with visits to three of the top Rotorua visitor attractions. At Te Puia, you’ll learn about Māori traditions and ways of life, before entering the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley, home to shooting geysers and bubbling mud pools.
Next, visit the Agrodome to find out all about farming in New Zealand by watching a sheep-shearing display and sheep dogs showing off their skills! Then visit Rainbow Springs nature park to see the famous New Zealand kiwi, as well as a huge range of other native New Zealand wildlife and plants.
After visiting the top Rotorua sights, set out across the countryside to a very special New Zealand destination – the Hobbiton Movie Set, constructed on a beautiful 1,250 acre farm near Matamata. Take a guided tour of Hobbiton and learn how this working farm was transformed into The Shire from Middle-earth for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. Your guide will show you locations like Hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn and the Mill – and maybe even let you in on some secrets from filming! After your Hobbiton Movie Set tour, return to Rotorua.
