interact with each other and watch them at play. Enjoy a gourmet-style lunch in
our exclusive secluded bush location, followed by a bushwalk, where you have

remember. 3 Days Small Group 4WD / Walks / Regional Experiences Apr. 2008 -
Mar. 2009
Day 1. Darwin, Kakadu National Park, Murdudjurl Tour. We leave Darwin at 7.00
a.m. in our air-conditioned Toyota Landcruiser 4-wheel drive. On our journey
into World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, we pas the Marrakai
floodplains and the Mary and Wildman rivers to travel into World
Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. Entering the park, we stop to enjoy a
picnic lunch, and then later this afternoon we take the Murdudjurl Cultural
Tour to learn about local Aboriginal people and their country. We set up camp
for the evening, having dinner around the campfire under the stars. Two Night
Camp: Kakadu National Park, Murdudjurl Permanent Campsite. Lx1 Dx1
Day 2. Twin Falls, Jim Jim Falls. After an early breakfast, head out to Twin
Falls and Jim Jim Falls. These falls are in a remote area of the park only
accessible by 4WD vehicle. Its an area of incredible natural beauty, but
the waterfalls are rainwater fed, so after several months without rain (around
Aug. and Sept.) its possible they may not be flowing. The rock pools and
surrounds are still magnificent and well worth the journey. Twin Falls is only
accessible by water. This waterfall gives you two cascading rivers of water
that fall down the cliff into a clear waterhole edged by white sands. After a
picnic lunch on the banks of the water, take a hike (approx. half a mile) to
Jim Jim Falls. Here, crystal clear waters, including a tiered waterfall
beginning from the top of the cliffs down to a high waterhole, falls to the
pool at the bottom. We return to the camp for dinner and our overnight stay in
this World Heritage area. Bx1 Lx1 Dx1
Day 3. Yellow Water, Barramundi Gorge, Ubirr Aboriginal Rock Art, Darwin. After
breakfast, cruise the Yellow Water billabong, home to a wide variety of
birdlife and perhaps the saltwater crocodile. Next, travel to the crystal-clear
rock pool and beauty of Barramundi Gorge. We then visit the colourful rock art
and spectacular scenery of Ubirr. This is a fascinating site with views over
Kakadu National Park and its wetlands. Wander amid the natural scenery and view
galleries of ancient Aboriginal rock art. Each of these preserved rock art
paintings are thousands of years old. Take the Arnhem Highway back to Darwin,
arriving at approximately 7.00 p.m. Bx1 Lx1
Experience Twin And Jim Jim Falls Twin Falls and Jim Jim Falls are two
highlights of Kakadu not to be missed. The fact that we can only access these
beautiful falls by 4WD and water ensures their remoteness. The falls are in
flow during the Wet (Nov.-Apr.) and may not flow during the Dry (May-Oct.), but
the waterholes are ideal for swimming. Stopping first at Twin Falls with its
grand rock formations, we then hike to Jim Jim Falls for a swim. Yellow Water
Billabong Yellow Water (its Aboriginal name is Ngurrungurrudjba) billabong is
located at the end of Jim Jim Creek, part of the largest river system in Kakadu
National Park. On a spectacular cruise youll see an amazing array of
birdlife, including whistling ducks and Magpie geese. Your knowledgeable guide
may also be able to get up close to crocodiles as you cruise through rainforest
and water lilies.
